Congratulations to Loreen for being one of the ‘Outstanding Adult Learner’ awardees during the Adult Learners’ Week/He Tangata Matauranga.
She was nominated by her sewing tutor Beverly Cook, at Rutherford College.
Loreen completed three terms of sewing and she was a pleasure to have in each class.
She was a real inspiration to the other students and always had a positive attitude towards her learning.
She made an infinity scarf, clutch purse, pleated tablecloth, handbag and polar fleece ruffle scarf. Loreen was noted as an exceptional example of a lifelong learner, despite her disability.
With her achievement, Loreen wanted to pursue another sewing class in the future in order to inspire more people.
Well done Loreen – we’re proud of you!
