Paul has worked for Business Enterprises, based at the Mall in Onehunga, for almost nine years now.
He’s very independent and catches the bus to work each day to meet his friends and workmates – which he considers a highlight of his days. Paul’s always enjoyed the variety of different jobs available at the Mall, and has never failed to step up to new challenges and opportunities.
Key among his many achievements was the completion of his forklift licence in 2013 and being promoted to ‘Trainee Team Leader’ in 2014.
Paul calls customers to confirm orders are ready and can be collected, and is also in charge of ordering stock, when needed.
Paul’s responsible for a wide range of warehouse duties, including – of course – operating the forklift to load and unload trucks. When the workload ramps up, Paul delegates tasks to his workmates.
Helping his teammates out with any issues they may have is second-nature to Paul, and he’s seen by his peers as the person to go to for advice and support.
He also relays concerns to staff on people’s behalf.
Paul’s very keen on ‘professional development’. To this end, he chairs the biweekly staff meetings and has also completed an open Te Wananga o Aotearoa literacy course in 2014, along with CSW first aid training at The Hub.
Congratulations Paul on all your achievements!
