Since starting our International Internship Programme in 2009, we’ve offered internships to dozens of students from all around the world, including Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany and the United States.

They’ve been a tremendous resource for the people we support, and their commitment and passion really shine through.

This August, we celebrated a reunion of our European interns at the Diaconal College Aarhus in Denmark, from which we’ve received a number of students over the past three years.

Around 30 of our former interns attended the event, coming from all over Europe to reconnect, and share stories and memories – there was lots of laughter!

Our Student Internship Manager, Mia Mau Barr, told the attendees all about what’s been happening at Spectrum Care and what’s going on with the current internship programme.

There were also fun contributions from the current students back in Auckland, which took the former interns for a trip down memory lane.

The event was a great success and we look forward to welcoming more students into our internship programme in the years to come.
