Christina Van Der Hooft recently volunteered her time replanting native trees in Te Atatu Peninsula.
It was a great day planting out in fern bird-friendly vegetation. Christina planted flax and there were several hundred plants to get in the ground.
It’ll be great to watch them grow over the years and Christina’s made a lasting contribution to Auckland’s beauty.
The planting bee was carried out by Forest & Bird Motu Manawa Restoration Group and Te Atatu Peninsula community volunteers, with support from Auckland Council.
All equipment and plants were provided, and there was a barbecue on afterwards for participants.
Good one! ‘North West… focusing on ability and contribution’
